8-core MacBook Pro is now stronger with Improved Butterfly Keyboard Design

Apple announced that it is going to introduce a new MacBook Pro with faster 8th and 9th generation Intel Core processors. As per this revision, it is the first time that the MacBook Pro has been available in an 8-core configuration. This new MacBook Pro model will also have a revised keyboard design.

Faster Performance

The new 8-core MacBook Pros will perform two times faster than a quad-core MacBook Pro and 40 percent faster than a 6-core MacBook Pro.

Apart from the faster processors, the new MacBook Pros offers a new iteration of its Butterfly keyboard technology. This MacBook Pro will include the new keyboard on the new 13-inch and 15-inch screen released on 21st May.

4th Butterfly Keyboard Revision

There is no information from Apple on whether or not the new keyboard design would also make its way to other Butterfly keyboard Macs, like the MacBook Air. As the fourth butterfly keyboard revision, with the 2018 MacBook line, Apple also added new silicone guards with an intention to ward off the problems users face with the keyboard design. As early this year, Apple acknowledged that some users were facing some reliability issues. If the issues are fixed or not, is yet to be seen.

Additional Features

For performance improvements, Apple says the new 8-core MacBook Pro offers below-mentioned improvements over the fastest quad-core 15-inch MacBook Pro:

  • Music lovers can play back multi-track projects with up to two times more Alchemy plug-ins in Logic Pro X.
  • You get complex photo edit and filter facility up to 75 percent faster in Photoshop.
  • If you are a 3D designer, you can run scenes up to two times faster in Maya Arnold.
  • Being a developer, you can compile code up to 65 percent faster in Xcode.
  • Researchers can compute complex fluid dynamics simulations up to 50 percent faster in TetrUSS.
  • You can edit videos up to 11 simultaneous Multicam streams of 4K video in Final Cut Pro X.

Price of MacBook Pro

The new MacBook Pro in 13-inch and 15-inch versions start at $1,799 and up to $2,399 respectively. You get a quad-core 2.4GHz 8th-generation Intel i5 processor in the starting version and new 8-core configuration is available only in the 15-inch MacBook Pro that starts at $2,799.
