After offering Koodo switcher plans for its LTE data customers, Telus prepaid brand Public Mobile appears to now be targeting its 3G customers.
According to text messages sent to some Public Mobile customers in April, the following Koodo switcher plan was offered to those on the company’s 3GB of 3G data over 90 days for $90 (1GB for $30/month essentially).

The message states that switch to a monthly plan with their sister brand, Koodo, and receive $100 in bill credits, 1GB of LTE data, unlimited Canada-wide minutes and unlimited international text for only $30 per month. The Koodo offer includes LTE data instead of 3G and also offers unlimited Canada-wide minutes, instead of unlimited province-wide talk.
Public Mobile launched slower 3G data plans last July, at lower prices compared to current LTE data plans. The company send out various offers to its users on their coveted $120/12GB plan over 90 days, to move them over to postpaid plans with Koodo.

These Koodo referral credits appear on bill statements in 4-8 weeks. Here are the steps according to Koodo:
Click ‘Start Referring’ and log in using your Self-serve email and password so you can start sending referrals to friends and family.
Once they receive your referral, they’ll need to redeem the offer by entering their name and email address into the referral system before they activate a service with Koodo.
Your referrals can then buy a phone or SIM card and activate with a Koodo plan
After they’ve activated, your referrals will need to log back into the referral system and enter their new Koodo phone number.

Also last month Koodo increased their referral credit to $100 each which was the highest you must have seen to date.
