You have heard a whistle…how does it sound…The ears come to attention on an whistle and thinks of some important task like be a pressure cooker whistle, washing machine whistle or any such thing that reminds of something not to miss out.
Whistle is the latest App launched this month for fitness lovers. This connects all the fitness freaks at one platform. Toronto-based startup Whistle is unique location-based app and will allows users to make a profile stating their available workout times, and workout preferences.
It will then pick up and show you similar list of people with compatible schedules in your area and uses a swipe right/swipe left model so the user can choose the workout partner that’s right for them. It also allows the user to find people interested in doing the same physical activities.
This free App is available at iTunes and comes in the English, French, German, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Russian, Simplified Chinese, Spanish and Traditional Chinese languages. It is compatible with iOS 7.1 or later and with iPhone, iPad and iPod devices.
Now even if you seem lazy to do exercise and try to skip for few days but with this Whistle app your co partner will surely give you a positive momentum and make you charge again for keeping your body fit. It will encourage you to stick with your fitness schedule. Whistle is designed to expand your social fitness network, make new friends, and try new activities with your local connections and more of a serve as social app. You will find it glad to find someone of your likes and tastes in fitness and workouts in your own neighbourhood to be friend and maybe even guide you better to keep fit.
You need to sign in to Whistle through your Facebook account, and allow access to some of your particulars including your date of birth and also of course, your location. You can upload a profile photo or it will default to your Facebook profile picture. Add a few words about yourself to tell other who you are and your fitness methods and choices.
Next select the type of fitness partner/friend you’re looking for, e.g. gym, biking, running, yoga etc. Then, select the time of day, distance from your location (up to 200 km) and age range. The app is gender neutral so you’ll have to figure that part yourself. Once the app filters your connection simply swipe through them and peruse their profiles. You can choose to chat with them and even create and name your own groups, like Gym Busters, or Yoga Friends and chat with them as well.
Then you can schedule a meet up, set your reminder and sync it with your calendar. What would be nice is to be able to set your location based on selecting a point on a map and perhaps be able to select home and away profiles.
Just a note to remember that Whistle is developed by FutureFuture Inc., a Toronto, Canada based creative agency, owned by Laura Davidson. It should not be confused and mixed with another app also called Whistle, by Whistle Labs an on-collar activity monitor for your pet doggie!
